Abstract Project

This has been one of my favorite projects we have done this year. I found that doing the two practice paintings was incredibly helpful because it allowed me to try different styles of painting. I personally liked creating the the softer color pallet of the first painting and the sharp stylistic feel of the second one, so for my large painting I decided to combine the best parts of both.

I found that in the final painting, I wish I had added more linear elements with an oil pastel or a charcoal pencil but I still really like what I created. I found that I captured the exact feeling I wanted to in this piece. I found that what helped during the creation process was listening to music that matched the idea I was going for. The flow in the songs often matched the flow in the piece.
